The Miseducation Of Evie Epworth - Matson Taylor

The Miseducation of Evie Epworth: Radio 2 Book Club Pick

The Miseducation of Evie Epworth was an absolute delight to read. 1960s Yorkshire: Evie is 16, living with her dad, Arthur, in the farmhouse that has always been her home. Then Christine, and Christine’s mother, move in, determined to make changes and intending to soon become Evie’s stepmother. Evie isn’t happy but finds comfort and sympathy next door with Mrs Scott-Pym. Then she meets Caroline. Glamorous, smart and sophisticated, everything that Christine isn’t.

With a sprinkling of Yorkshire magic, secrets are discovered, plans are hatched and monkey business is afoot. The author expertly captures the innocent humour of female conversation resulting in a wonderful, witty read. It really made me smile. I loved the characters so much and I’m  hoping we’ll meet them again in another book.
